Several odds and ends . . .

First, I thank all who voted for me in the Missourian Poll for the Planning & Zoning Commission. Alas, cooler heads on the City Council prevailed, and I was not chosen. Life goes on, and now no one will get a pony.

A reminder: Saturday, June 5th there will be an Open House/Garden Party at the home of Gary Smith and Randy Kilgore, 804 Fairway, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. If you can, come and enjoy good company in their beautiful garden!

Lastly, if anyone would like some, we have an abundance of strawberries this year. If you would like to come by sometime and pick your own, just drop me an email or feel free to call (573-442-0855). This is a limited-time offer, however, as the crop will start to run out in the next couple of weeks.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 5th!

Just an FYI which does concern the neighborhood, but somewhat indirectly: the Planning & Zoning commission has a couple of open appointments which will be filled by the Council next Monday. There’s a decent survey of the candidates who have applied in the Missourian, if you would like to see who they are, and express your preferences to the Council.

There’s also a poll. Internet polls are just about useless. But since my name is on there, you should go vote. After all, I am promising that everyone in Columbia will get a pony if I am appointed. No, I am not serious.

(Thanks, Eric, for the poll link.)

Hey everyone,

You may have seen that the realty sign out in front of Ray Schroeder’s home now has a ‘Contract Pending’ addition. Just to give you a quick note about that . . .

Martha and I have met the couple who are hoping to move in there. They are really nice, and will be a great addition to our neighborhood. Their names are Chuck and Catherine, and their little girl (soon to be 6) is Lily. We’ll just go with first names for now, since things still need to fall into place for the sale to be final. They’re looking forward to doing the interior upgrading of the house, and are avid gardeners. They’re going to try and attend the Open House at Randy & Gary’s on June 5th.

Thought you might like to know. Cheers!
